I have been in Jackson County since I was six years old. I went to Jackson County Elementary School (the old WJPS), Jackson County Middle School (Gordon Street Center), and Jackson County Comprehensive High School.
I am certified in Middle Grades Education from North Georgia College. I have a bachelor's degree in master's degree in Instructional Technology from the University of Georgia, and I am in the process of getting another master's degree in Theological Studies from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. I have been at West Jackson Middle School for 16 years, 8 years as a classroom teacher and 8 years as a media specialist. I love reading, writing books on occasion (finished NaNoWriMo!), learning new ways to teach (even dying my hair blue or dressing up for red ribbon week), watching great movies or TV shows, singing, listening to music or podcasts, traveling to different places (Africa, Boston, Nashville, Santa Fe, Jamestown, Louisville), and spending time with my family, especially my nieces (6 years and 3 years old). I also have one crazy cat named Hummer. |
